Week 1
Tiny Planets
These Tiny Planets are made of the skylines of London, Samarkand, and a mountain respectively. On 5 January 2015, we began to work on our first project, the Tiny Planets, where a picture of a skyline would be chosen, flipped upside down (Edit -> Transform -> Flip Vertical), and then would be filtered using Polar Coordinates (Filters -> Pixelate -> Polar Coordinates). While most people got rid of the line that occurred when the picture was filtered with the smudge tool, I was able to choose the side that looked better in the image, use the Rectangular Marquee Tool to select that half of the image, and then Cntrl + J it into a new layer. I would then produce a mirror image of that half of the filtered image (Edit -> Transform -> Flip Horizontal) and then move that part of the image to the side I did not want, creating a symmetrical planet.
